CompuWeather Threshold Studies

Contributed by Jess Hurwitz, CompuWeather Director of Sales and Marketing / CTO

CompuWeather’s Threshold Studies are available for Wind, Rain, Snow and Temperature. They are useful to determine how many times during the term of the study a weather factor has exceeded a specific limit. An example of this would be to determine when winds of 64 mph or above existed at 30 Bentley Lane over a 10 year period. Our wind threshold studies are typically used for roof claims to identify periods when unusually high winds or damaging winds took place for a specific location. They can also be used to disqualify claims when dealing with policy coverage issues. Threshold studies are also common for rainfall to provide dates when the rainfall total exceeded the threshold number. This can be helpful to accurately assess liability in flooding events.
