Spending Now Saves Later

Contributed by James Bria, CompuWeather Sr. Forensic Meteorologist and Weather Expert

It’s fairly common for CompuWeather meteorologists to become involved in cases that are close to or about to begin trial. Usually the exchange begins with a panicked phone call from a client about needing an expert opinion immediately. These calls may be the result of the belief that a meteorologist was not needed earlier because someone in house could find the proper data online and interpret it correctly or that it wasn’t worth spending the money for an expert’s review. In most cases, spending money and engaging CompuWeather early on can provide substantial time and monetary savings. Accurately understanding the exact weather conditions that relate to your case in the early stages helps to ensure better management of your case through completion.

There have been many instances where CompuWeather meteorologists are asked to provide a weather opinion for a case just prior to trial for which there had been no prior review by a weather expert. The review by the expert sheds new light and in some cases a completely different and opposite conclusion of the weather conditions associated with the case.

CompuWeather meteorologists have a vast amount experience with weather data. We know which weather stations are available, which will be the most relevant in your case and more importantly which data can be certified for litigation purposes. The most common outcome in many instances where CompuWeather was involved early on is that the cases settled before actually going to trial and the total costs incurred for case were dramatically lower for all.

Why wait to use CompuWeather’s services when a small charge now may become a large one later?
