A claims processing
breakthrough
Compu-Weather
has reported tremendous customer response for
their newly introduced Fast Facts
Service. Compu-Weather's Forensics
Manager, John Papp, recently discussed how their
new Fast Facts Service
streamlines the investigation of weather-related
claims issues.
John explained
that many claims professionals have come to rely
on Compu-Weather to research and procure
the detailed weather records to document their
weather-related cases. However, they often found
it tedious to go through the data on their own.
"We have always offered free telephone consultations
with every data order, but it was difficult to
coordinate time on the telephone on both sides,
and a number of customers requested that we find
a way to speed things up and make the process
easier for them. We realized that by having a
meteorologist analyze the data prior to giving
the client a telephone consultation, the time
consuming part had already been completed, but
in many cases, claims professionals were not availing
themselves of this no-cost phone analysis. So,
why not put the answer in a fax to the
client, in order to make their life easier by
avoiding the ‘telephone tag’ and note-taking process?"
That’s how the
Fast Facts Service
was born, and the response has been overwhelming!
Many of our clients have found that it helps them
to close their files more quickly when weather
is an issue in the claim, and it gives the adjuster
the edge in understanding the weather issues early
in the process. We still offer free telephone
consultations with any order, so the client has
the ability to call with any additional questions
that may come up concerning the weather conditions.
Insurance professionals now have an edge in the
claims process with the new Fast Facts
Service because it gives them a timely,
concise answer to their weather question. It fits
that niche perfectly, and will be an essential
tool for the busy claims professional.
In addition to
past weather records, Compu-Weather’s meteorologists
prepare plain-English reports and historical climate
studies, attend depositions, testify as experts,
perform site visits and procure certified weather
records.
